The Old Rochester Youth Lacrosse League is sponsoring the second annual "Lax Fest" at ORR High School on Saturday, May 12, noon to 4:30. Lax Fest began last year as a fun-filled day for the youth and high school lacrosse players to come out with the community and celebrate the start of the lacrosse program at ORR high school, and to raise money to underwrite the cost of the program.
The 2012 fest will kick off at noon with the ORR girls players running a clinic for the youngest learn-to-play groups (beginning at 12:15). There will be a food concession stand, ORR lacrosse merchandise sales, shot clock competitions, lacrosse head stringing services, and a silent auction of brand new lax equipment. Representatives from Warrior and Brine will be on hand to showcase their equipment. Throughout the afternoon youth games will take place, with the culmination of the day being the boys varsity game against Pope John Paul II from the Cape at 3pm. Michael Rock of Fun 107 will be on hand to announce the varsity game and prizewinners. Girls JV and varsity members will also run ongoing games and relays before they need to leave for an away game against Mashpee High School. Next year's event will feature a girls home game. The event is free and the public is invited to come and watch the oldest Native American sport that is still played today. Rain date is May 19th. |

Subscribe to Parent / Guardian Email Lists |

 |
 |
In order to better communicate with the parents and guardians of our students, email lists have been set up. All parents' and guardians' emails addresses that we have on record have been included in the lists, which are organized by student grade level/year of graduation. If you would like your email address to be added, removed, or edited, you can manage your account by using links below.
If you have more than one child in the District, you should subscribe to all the appropriate groups. You will not receive multiple copies of messages sent to more than one group.
This is a moderated list. Only administrators and other authorized school personnel (such as the principal) will have permission to to send emails to the groups. All other messages sent to the list will be held for approval. Non-essential and inappropriate messages will be deleted.
The emails lists are "hidden" lists - only the administrators of the lists will be able to see the email addresses. Your email address will not be visible in any outgoing messages.

 |
In accordance with federal and state regulations, the Old Rochester Regional and Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester school districts provide special education programs designed to meet the needs of children who are attending public and private schools and whose parents reside in the towns of Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester. This information applies to all children who reside in the towns of Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester, including homeless children. Special education services provided by the public schools are available to all children aged 3 through 21, who have disabilities which prevent them from making progress in school. Eligible areas of disability include autism, communication, physical, intellectual impairments, specific learning disabilities, and developmental delays. Parents or guardians of youngsters who might qualify for special education are encouraged to contact the public school district to determine the eligibility of their child or children.
The Old Rochester Regional School District provides a full continuum of special education services. Parents or public school licensed professionals may refer a child for evaluation for special education eligibility, if regular education interventions are not successful. Preschool screenings are available four times per year in the elementary schools in the Tri-town area - look in local papers or call your elementary school for dates and times.
